Just because you’ve been cleared for exercise by a health professional doesn’t mean you should jump straight back into your regular workouts.
Being “cleared” means it’s safe to start moving again—but that doesn’t mean your body is ready to handle the same intensity, volume, or load as before. There’s a difference between being allowed to exercise and being fully prepared for what your workouts used to look like.
This is where properly modifying and scaling makes a huge difference. Reintroducing movement safely, at the right pace for your current capacity, helps you rebuild strength, restore control, and avoid setbacks.
Being patient will be key. Progress may feel slow at times, but every step forward matters.
Personal training or working closely with a coach can guide that process—giving you the right progressions, support, and accountability so you can come back with confidence and set yourself up for long-term success.
